Event: Limited Seats Remain for May 12 Flight to Toluca, Mexico

The May 12 flight on Conviasa from Caracas-Maiquetía Airport to Toluca, Mexico, has a limited number of seats remaining.  Three planes with 90 passengers each will depart at 7:00a.m., 7:30a.m., and 8:00a.m., all with the same flight number.

How To Book a Ticket

  • Only JAJ Tours Travel Agency can book your ticket.
  • To purchase a seat, send a WhatsApp message to +58-424-469-3100.
  • Due to significant demand for seats, JAJ Tours is extremely busy and may not immediately respond to messages/calls.  Please be patient and wait for a response.  Power and internet outages in Venezuela have also caused significant delays in processing booking requests.
  • Passengers may pay JAJ Tours using Zelle® bank transfers or credit cards.  The flight costs $710 U.S. dollars.

We remind you that the U.S. Embassy cannot make travel arrangements for you.  We have no way of helping you travel overland from other locations in Venezuela to Caracas, nor can we provide information or suggestions on how to travel.

U.S. Embassy Bogotá assumes no responsibility or liability for the professional ability or reputation of, or the quality of services provided by, JAJ Tours Travel Agency, which is a private company.  We understand that it is the only travel agency that can make reservations on this flight.

If you do not depart on this flight, U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents in Venezuela should be prepared for an indefinite stay in Venezuela.  The Travel Advisory for Venezuela has been “Level 4 – Do Not Travel” since February 2019.  The U.S. government has extremely limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Venezuela.

Due to travel restrictions within Venezuela, we suggest that any persons planning to travel on this flight give themselves ample time to reach the Maiquetía International Airport.  We are not able to arrange for or provide transportation to the airport.  Travel during daylight hours only to and from Maiquetía International Airport.

Flights from Toluca and Mexico City to the United States are increasingly limited and subject to last-minute changes.  Passengers who may require emergency assistance while in Mexico or assistance with arranging onward travel from Mexico to the United States should contact ACSMexicoCity@state.gov or call +52-55-8526-2561 as soon as possible.  The Mexican government has declared a health emergency through May 30 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and has imposed restrictions on non-essential economic activities.  Hotel availability near the airport for transit passengers is limited.  Mexican authorities routinely conduct health checks on arriving passengers and those with symptoms may be subject to quarantine.

Note: Yesterday, May 9, our alert included an error regarding the nationwide quarantine in Venezuela. The 60 day extension we referenced was regarding the Economic State of Emergency, which is separate from the quarantine that is currently in place in Venezuela.
