Message for U.S. Citizens: American Citizen Services Unit visit to Valencia on November 17, 2015

Consular officials from the American Citizen Services Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Caracas will visit Valencia on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 to provide services to U.S. citizens living in the city and surrounding areas.  U.S. citizens who wish to consult with our consular team during this visit should bring their U.S. passports as identification.

U.S. citizens may take advantage of this opportunity to:

  • Renew a U.S. passport
  • Apply for a U.S. passport for the first time
  • Learn how to apply for a Social Security number
  • Notarize a document that will be used in the United States
  • Learn how to register in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

The officials will be at the Colegio Internacional de Carabobo (CIC), located at the end of Av. Alejo Zuloaga, crossing el Colegio Street, Urbanización Trigal Centro, Valencia, Estado Carabobo from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Applicants should bring originals and one set of copies of all documents they will present with their completely filled out application.  To help us serve you more efficiently, please review the American Citizen Services section of the Embassy’s webpage for information about the requirements associated with the above-referenced services.  Please note that, depending on the case, Embassy officials reserve the right to request that you appear in person at the Embassy to further discuss your application. Please note that the officials cannot answer questions about immigrant or non-immigrant visas.

Consular Services Fees: Fees for consular services must be paid with a Venezuelan bank cashier’s check made payable to “U.S. Disbursing Officer” from Banco Provincial. We cannot accept cash payment for consular services. Please remember to bring the check and a copy of the check with you.  The following fees apply:

  • Adult Passport Renewal (Form DS-82) – 693.00 Bs
  • Adult Passport (Form DS-11) – 850.50 Bs
  • Minor Passport Renewal (Form DS-11) – 661.50 Bs
  • Adult Passport Card (Form DS-11 or DS-82) – 189.00 Bs
  • Minor Passport Card (Form DS-11) – 94.50 Bs
  • Request of Extra Visa Pages (Form DS-4085) -516.60 Bs
  • Notary Service – 315.00 Bs for each consular official signature

Passport Delivery: Passport applicants may retrieve their new passport at the Embassy in Caracas or via Zoom courier service.

If you wish to have your documents delivered by Zoom’s private courier services, please indicate this preference at the time of interview and pay Zoom upon delivery of the document to the agency you indicated in your passport interview.

Zoom fees are based on the document’s weight.  Applicants should expect to be charged accordingly for the documents they receive.  The cost may vary depending on the location of delivery. Please be advised that all fees for this service are subject to change per Zoom’s internal policies.  For further information regarding the cost, please visit Zoom web page:

Important Information Regarding the Receipt of your Passport: It is the applicant’s responsibility to claim his/her passport.  Any undelivered passports will be returned to the embassy and will not be sent back out for delivery.  Once the embassy receives an undeliverable passport, the applicant must come to the embassy to pick it up.  Applicants have 90 days to receive their passports – via Zoom or pick-up from the embassy – from the day the passports arrive at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas.  Passports not received within 90 days will be cancelled and returned to the Department.
