Consular officials from the American Citizen Services Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Caracas will visit Barquisimeto, Lara state on Monday, October 27, 2014, to provide services to U.S. citizens living in the city and surrounding areas.
U.S. citizens may take advantage of this opportunity to:
- Renew a U.S. passport
- Apply for a U.S. passport for the first time
- Learn how to apply for a Social Security number
- Notarize a document that will be used in the United States
- Learn how to register in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)
The officials will be at Hotel BIOTEL SUITES, salon number 2, located at Av. Libertador con Av. Antonio Benitez Mendez, Zona Industrial I Barquisimeto, Estado Lara, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants should bring originals and one set of copies of all documents presented. Please note that depending on the case, we reserve the right to ask you to appear personally before the embassy for an interview and/or request additional documents, if deemed necessary.
Fees for consular services must be paid with a Banco Provincial-issued cashier’s check made payable to “U.S. Disbursing Officer.” Please remember to bring the check and a copy with you.

Passport applicants may retrieve their new passport at the Embassy in Caracas or through DHL. The fee to use the DHL service is 150 bolivars and must be paid only with a cash deposit to Banco Provincial to “DHL FLETES AEREOS C.A.”, the DHL’s bank account number is: 0108-0581-33-0100031116. This means that passport applicants who would like to use DHL should include with their application proof of deposit to the DHL bank account.
U.S. citizens who wish to consult with our consular team during this visit should bring their U.S. passports as identification.
