Message to U.S. Citizens: U.S. Embassy Consular visit to Puerto La Cruz on February 07, 2014

On Friday, February 7, 2014, consular officials from the U.S. Embassy in Caracas will visit Puerto La Cruz to offer American Citizen Services to American citizens in that city and surrounding areas.

The officials will provide services from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the offices of Colegio Internacional de Puerto La Cruz, located on Av. Country Club con calle Ricaurte, Barcelona 6001.

The following services will be provided:

  • Renewal of U.S. Passports
  • Information on how to apply for a social security number
  • Notary services for documents to be used in the United States
  • Information on how to register with the U.S. State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (“STEP”)
  • Information on Selective Service registration

Important

APPLICANTS MUST BRING ORIGINALS AND ONE COPY OF ALL DOCUMENTS, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.

Applicants must review the American Citizen Services section of the Embassy’s web page: to get information about the documentary requirements and fees associated with the above-referenced services.

THERE WILL BE NO VISA SERVICES PROVIDED DURING THIS VISIT.

In addition, the consular officials will NOT be able to provide the following services:

  • First-time passport applications
  • Passport renewal applications for passports issued more than 15 years ago
  • Consular Reports of Birth Abroad

Please note that the fees paid for all services must be made with a cashier’s check issued by Banco Provincial. Checks must be made payable to U.S. Disbursing Officer. Please bring a copy of the check with you.

Passport applicants will have the option of having their new passports sent to them by private courier DHL for a fee of 100 Bolivares per passport, or retrieving them personally at the Embassy in Caracas. For more information about DHL’s restrictions, please see their website at http://www.dhl.com.ve/es.html.  The DHL fee must  be paid by deposit only in Banco Provincial, account number 0108-0581-33-0100031116 in the name of DHL Fletes Aéreos C.A.
