U.S. citizens living or traveling in Venezuela need a valid U.S. passport. The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit provides passport services by appointment. The ACS Unit does not receive passport applications outside of business hours, on weekends on holidays and administrative days or via email, internet or fax. All passport applications must be presented in person at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas.
Important Notices Regarding Passport Services
The ACS Unit mail U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) via Zoom courier service. If you wish to pick up your passport or CRBA at a local Zoom office, please specify which one at the time of your interview.
It is your responsibility to pay Zoom at the time you pick up your documents from one of their offices. Zoom’s fees are based on weight and pick-up location. Please be advised that all fees for this service are subject to change per Zoom’s internal policies. For further information regarding the cost, please visit Zoom web page: www.grupozoom.com.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to claim his/her passport. Any undelivered passports will be returned to the embassy and will not be sent back out for delivery. Once the embassy receives an undeliverable passport, the applicant must come to the embassy to pick it up. Applicants have 90 days to pick-up their passport from the day the passports arrive at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. Passports not received within 90 days will be cancelled and returned to the Department.
